Army jawan found dead in Kupwara

An army jawan from Haryana was today found dead under suspicious circumstances inside a barrack in Karnah sector of Kupwara district in north Kashmir, police said.
Sepoy Pankaj Kumar, posted with 165 field regiment, was found unconscious in his barrack at Batpora village in Tangdhar area in the wee hours today, a police officer said.
He said the jawan was taken to a nearby army hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The body of Kumar was handed over to the unit concerned, the officer said, adding, police has started inquest proceedings to ascertain the cause of death.
