Konark corps' general officer commanding Lieutenant General R K Jagga today launched a plantation drive by planting a sapling at Niwaru military station here.
A total of 12,000 saplings of different varieties will be planted in the recently established military station.
Speaking on the occasion, Lt General Jagga laid out the vision of developing the Niwaru military station as one of the green lungs of Jaipur city.
On the sidelines of the campaign, zonal president of Konark Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) inaugurated the Army Pre Primary School at the military station, defence spokesperson Col Sombit Ghosh said.
The school has been established as part of the infrastructure development and will benefit the wards of serving soldiers, ex-servicemen and civilians living in the area, the spokesman said.
