Army physician wins 6 medals in World Medical and Health Games
Press Trust of India New Delhi Army physician Surendra Poonia has won six medals, including three gold, in the recent 34th World Medical and Health Games in Zagreb, Croatia.
Major (Dr) Poonia, VSM, had won a gold each in powerlifting, 1500m race and 800m race, a silver each in 5000m race and Cross Country, and a bronze in 400m race, according to information received here.
More than 2400 athlete from 51 countries had participated in the June 29-July 7 event.
This is the fourth time that Poonia has won medals at the World Medical and Health Games. In the last four years, he has won a total of 21 international medals.
