Armyman held for purchasing illicit weapon

An armyman has been arrested for purchasing an illicit weapon from an arms manufacturer in Bardah village under Mufassil police station in Munger district, a police officer said today.
During search at a hotel where the accused trooper was arrested in Munger town, the police seized his identity card and licence of a pistol which was not found with him during checking, he said.
Singh said that Bhagmare told the interrogators that he had come to Munger on sanctioned leave to purchase the illicit pistol on the advice of a friend.
Further probe was on in the matter, the police official said.
