A delegation of state Congress submitted a complaint with the state's chief electoral officer yesterday and demanded Modi's apology in this connection, party sources informed here today.
Modi, during a rally here on March 31, had said that Tuki would face various challenges after May 16 as there would be no one in Delhi to help him.
"His undemocratic and unethical remarks to equate legislators with vegetables are really unfortunate and highly condemnable. Such remark is a slap on the face of people of Arunachal who have unanimously elected leaders unopposed," it said.
"The sentiments of Arunachalees have been deeply wounded by such ill remarks of Modi and he must tender apology for disgracing democratically elected leaders," the party said in the complaint and demanded the Commission to initiate an appropriate action, party sources added.
