The governor expressed his view when chairman of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies (MAKAIAS) Sitaram Sharma along with Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) Vice- Chancellor Prof Tamo Mibang called on him at Raj Bhawan yesterday.
The meeting was held after signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the institutes for academic collaboration
and engagement of research scholars in the field of tribal studies, a communique said here today.
Sharma appreciated the MAKAIAS for forging partnership with RGU in enriching the knowledge depository of the state and hoped that the initiative would go long way in cementing the relationship between the two institutes and facilitate in bringing out the mystical tribal culture.
He informed the MAKAIAS chairman that Arunachal Pradesh would be crucial to India's Look East Policy and therefore more academic studies might be taken up on this subject.
