Association passes resolution condemning the list

The Madras High Court Advocates Association today passed a resolution condemning the recommendation of only nine names for the posts of judges when there are 18 vacancies in the High Court.
The resolution requested the High Court to stop this list which was under the consideration of the collegium.
It further requested the collegiums to recommend 18 names at a time and not to recommend the names of the candidates related to the cast of which already large in number in Madras High Court.
It also passed a resolution seeking to give representation to the cast which were not represented and to give preference as per the population of the cast.
