"After corruption of UPA was exposed, the CAG is being attacked. The way Narayanasamy and Sriprakash Jaiswal raised objections to CAG saying it does not have a mandate, is a straight matter of breach of privilege. We will take appropriate steps in this regard," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.
Javadekar said the party will take appropriate "action" on their statement on Tuesday when Parliament meets. "What the leaders like Narayanasamy have said is a breach of privilege. We will take action on Tuesday," he said.
After the Comptroller and Auditor General's three new reports on coal block allocations, development of Delhi International Airport and Ultra Mega Power Projects rapping the government were tabled in Parliament yesterday, Union Ministers V Narayanasamy and Sriprakash Jaiswal had attacked the CAG for allegedly not following its mandate.
"The Congress has been exposed and is trying to put the blame on others and that is why these statements are being made," he said.
He also took on Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal, who had said that BJP-ruled states were in favour of allocation of coal blocks saying there was strong opposition from Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, then ruled by the BJP and the Left, against competitive bidding.
"The Centre does not work on states' recommendations. They are also blaming the screening committee, but the fact remains that the Prime Minister's signature gave the stamp of approval to the allocations," Javadekar said.
"The Congress government is breaking its own records of corruption, and is trying to pin the blame on others," he said.
