An advocate, Johnson Pandian had filed a PIL on the failure of demolition of illegal construction in the town, sales of outside items and snacks in Aavin booths and also issuance of false land deed and approval to construct houses on that land.
Pandian informed the Court that the administration has failed to demolish the illegal construction--numbering 1,336-- in the town and only demolish some portion, as an eye wash.
Based on the petition, the Court had ordered the aurhorities to take action against the discrepancies and irregularities on February 17 last, Pandian told reporters, whhile coming out after a meeting, Shivakumar convened to know the details on the documents he had filed in the Court.
