Autorickshaw driver molests Russian girl, held

At a time when the national capital is under an unprecedented security cover in view of US President Barack Obama's visit, a 25-year-old Russian girl was allegedly molested by an autorickshaw driver in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj area here this evening.
The accused driver, in his 30s, was soon arrested by police after the girl approached them with her complaint.
"The incident took place when the girl, who works as a coordinator for a modelling agency, hired an auto from Vasant Kunj to travel to her Green Park home. The auto driver stopped the vehicle at a secluded place where he first tried to snatch her handbag and then touched her inappropriately," police said.

The girl fought back, kicking him and hitting him with a stone. She then escaped from the spot and took the help of a passerby to approach police.
Based on her statement, police at Vasant Kunj (south) registered a case of molestation and launched a manhunt for the accused.
"The victim had noted down the registration number of the auto and the driver was soon nabbed," police added.
