The 32-year-old actor took to Instagram to share a picture from the sets of the movie.
"I missed the match. But started something really exciting. Great day at office on day 1 in Pune. Sriram Raghavan's Shoot The Piano Player. #ShootBegins," wrote Ayushmann.
The photograph shows the "Meri Pyaari Bindu" actor sporting a slick-haired avatar, sitting in front of a piano in a dim-lit setting with the clap board ready for the next shot.
The movie's director of photography is K U Mohananan.
Interestingly, "Shoot the Piano Player" is also the name of a 1960 French crime drama film directed by Francois Truffaut, starring Charles Aznavour as the protagonist.
