Brought to Mumbai five years back, a 20-year-old woman from Bangladesh was allegedly pushed into flesh trade. The victim was also beaten up and gangraped by some persons near Kalyan railway station, police said today.

The accused, after gangraping the victim last week, dumped her into a train, they said.

Seven persons have been booked under IPC sections 376(G) (gangrape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 370 (buying or disposing of any person as a slave) read with 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) and also sections 5 and 8 of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, Kalyan-Kolshewadi police station's sub-inspector V S Pawar said.

The victim, hailing from Abhaynagar in Bangladesh, was brought to Mumbai four-five years back by a person, identified as Mithun Chakraborty, who sold her to one Jiju.

Since then, the woman lived with Jiju in a slum colony near Kalyan railway station, he said quoting the complaint referred by Bhopal Railway Police.

According to the complaint, Jiju and another person pushed her into flesh trade in the locality, he said.

On May 10 at around midnight, 3-4 persons took her to the railway yard at Kalyan on some pretext where they took turns to rape her and also beat her up severely.

The accused then dumped her in the Pathankot Express train and fled, as per the complaint.

On May 11, the victim was found lying unconscious in the train by some persons. At Bhopal station, the railway police admitted her to a local hospital.

The Bhopal police recorded her statement on May 13 and referred the complaint to Mumbai railway police, who in-turn forwarded the same to Kalyan police for further probe, Pawar said.

An investigation is on into the case, he added.
