Flights of GoAir, SpiceJet, Jet Airways, Air India and IndiGo were diverted. These include two Jet Airways flights from Dubai and Dhaka, sources at the airport said.
According to them, 11 flights, mostly domestic ones, were diverted to Jaipur, Lucknow and Chandigarh.
The diversion was on account of bad weather as there were strong winds and rain. Around seven diversions happened between 1000 and 1200 hours while the rest were diverted in the afternoon due to inclement weather, they added.
The airport here handles around 1,000 air traffic movements everyday and has three operating runways.
