At its Annual General Meeting yesterday, BAI amended its constitution to fall in line with the Sports Code.
It has decided to fix the age limit of its office bearers to 70.
The tenure of BAI president has also been fixed to a maximum of three-year term, with or without break, of four years each while the secretary general and treasurer can hold their respective positions for a maximum of two terms, with or without a break, of four years each.
The Sports Ministry had earlier asked the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and all the National Sports Federations (NSFs) to amend their respective constitutions ahead of the meeting with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), to be held on May 15, to bring India back into the Olympic movement.
