Additional SP (North) Bhaskar Mukherjee said police were examining all aspects including any link of the arrested Bangladeshi, having an Identity card carrying the name of Masum Billa, with the accused in Burdwan blast on October 2.
But so far there was no direct indication in this regard, he said.
The Bangladeshi, who said he hailed from Satkhira in Jessore district in the neighbouring country, however introduced himself as Rahul Das, Mukherjee said.
During preliminary interrogation the arrested person, who could not produce passport, claimed he crossed over to Basirhat from Assam.
