The Vice-Chancellor of Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV) in West Bengal's Nadia district fell ill on Saturday after he was gheraoed by the students for 24-hours in his office, officials said.
The agitating students who had gheraoed VC Dharani Dhar Patra since Friday and were not allowing him to leave office allowed him to go home after he fell ill, they said.
The students are demanding the removal of the Dean (Agriculture) Srikanth Das and Dean Students Welfare (DSW) Goutam Chakraborty.
The VC said "the students have no concrete demands. I have talked with them a few times and asked for some time to solve their problems but suddenly they sat in demonstration before my chamber.
