The lawyers whose named were proposed lack merit and suitability for appointment as judges, BCR Chairman Sanjay Sharma said.
"Their names were proposed only because they are either son of Supreme court judge or having close terms with them or have worked with them in their early part of practice as apprentices," he said at a press conference here.
"The bar council strictly oppose the action of the high court in recommending the name of these lawyers for bench without considering other merits and suitability for appointment as Judges," Sharma said, adding that BCR will send a list of competent and eligible lawyers from all over the state to the Chief Justice for consideration for elevation to the High Court bench.
