Beacons misused in UP for 15 yrs, will bring simplicity : UP

Red beacons have been grossly misused in Uttar Pradesh in the last 15 years but from now on only those entitled will used them, state minister Shrikant Sharma said today adding .
Speaking to reporters here, the newly appointed minister said that the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government would be known for its "simplicity".
"We do not endorse red beacon (laal batti) culture. For the past 15 years, the red beacon has been grossly misused in Uttar Pradesh. The party's endeavour would be to ensure that no misuse of red beacons takes place in the state, and only those who are entitled for red beacons use it," Sharma said.

His comments come at a time when the newly elected Punjab government has decided to do away with beacons, which are considered as symbols of status and power.
Asked about the allocation of ministerial berths to the newly sworn-in ministers, Sharma, said that, "Allocation of portfolios to ministers is the sole prerogative of the Chief Minister. Very soon you will come to know about it."
Sharma said that efforts would be made to ensure that welfare policies of the Centre reach the lowest strata of the society. Similar, efforts would also be made by the state government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, he added.

"If there is any problem or shortcoming, then the matter should come up (to the government) through party workers, and it must be promptly redressed. For this, there should be better co-ordination between government and party," he said.
The UP cabinet minister said Chief Minister Adityanath too had laid stress on better co-ordination between party (organisation) and government during his first meeting with his ministerial colleagues.
