Bengal to invite bids from real estate to develop towns

The West Bengal government will invite participation from real estate developers to develop new townships.
Officials said private players can develop private townships on privately owned land for which the government will give all possible facilities.
The government will also develop six cities Siliguri, Kalyani, Bolpur, Baruipur, Howrah and Asansol as theme cities, officials said.
Each of the cities will be themed around sports, senior citizens, health and education, industry, analytics and art and culture.
