Bhamashah Health Insurance scheme to kick off on Dec 13: Min

The Bhamashah Health Insurance Policy, an initiative to provide better medical facility to Rajasthan's poor population, will be launched on December 13, coinciding with second anniversary of BJP government in the state.
Rajasthan Health Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore made this announcement yesterday after inaugurating a lodge inside Hindoli community health centre premises here.
Speaking on the occasion, Rathore said the scheme would help 67 per cent of the state's poor population to get better health services both at government and private hospitals.
The minister announced that the budget for health sector has been raised up to 26 per cent.
Under Bhamashah Health Insurance Policy, insurance cover of Rs 30,000 for common disease and Rs 3 lakh for severe disease will be provided. The amount will be borne by the insurance companies, the minister said.
Rathore also said that the state government has already announced to open seven new medical colleges. And Rs 190 crore have also been sanctioned for each college to begin the construction work.
The health minister further informed that besides salary, an incentive of Rs 30,000, would be given to the government doctors working in the remote rural areas.
Rathore said a health information network would be developed in the state under Aarogya Rajasthan Campaign.
Meanwhile, the minister also inaugurated urban primary health centre, constructed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh under National Urban Health Mission at Balchand Para area of Bundi.
He also paid a sudden visit to district government hospital.
The minister took to task the medical officials for dirt and waste piled up inside the hospital premises. He announced to sanction Rs 65 lakh for keep up and maintenance of the district hospital.
Rathore also sanctioned Rs 22 lakhs for the deep fridge and construction of mortuary at the hospital.
He was accompanied by local BJP MLA Ashok Dogera, Additional Director National Health Mission Neeraj K Pawan and other official during his day-long visit to Bundi.
