The Commission has directed the two officials to come with action taken report in the matter, which pertains to serious allegations of corruption against the concerned engineer Dhananjay Mani Tiwari.
BHRC Member Neelmani said Siwan Zila Parishad Vice Chairman Ashok Kumar Singh had complained against Tiwari regarding siphoning of funds allocated under various state and central government schemes and government inaction against him.
"Singh had first complained to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) about Tiwari, but it referred the case to BHRC as the case was related to a state matter. We then queried the Panchayati Raj Department, which replied that a vigilance case (No. 37/2012) was pending against him," Neelmani said.
"The VIB SP informed that a corruption case was registered against Tiwari and others under various sections of IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and the investigation against them was going on. An interim chargesheet has been submitted on September 23, 2014 against five officers accused in the case," Neelmani said.
Neelmani added that DDC Siwan did not respond to BHRC query so he has been asked to appear, while VIB SP will have to tell why no action has been taken against Tiwari, so far.
