Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vidya Prakash issued notices to various accused of the 2005 case of illegal phone tapping of Singh and sought their replies to the police plea.

Police made the plea to the court as Bhushan had alleged that his name has been dragged into the controversy by lifting some part of conversation from Amar Singh's CD.

He had also alleged that CD containing his purported talks with Samajwadi party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh on managing a Supreme Court judge was a "cut-and-paste job" to discredit the campaign for a strong anti-graft Lokpal Bill.

"Issue notice of this application to accused persons facing trial in FIR 152/2005 (Amar Singh CD case) with Special Cell," Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vidya Prakash said.

The court also asked the investigating officer of Amar Singh's phone tapping case to file a reply on the plea.

The court order came on an application by the Special Cell of Delhi police investigating the Shanti Bhushan CD case of 2011 and seeking the copies of the three CDs recovered in the Amar Singh phone tapping case.

"During course of investigation, it was revealed that in FIR 152/2005 (Amar Singh CD case), three CDs were recovered at instance of accused Bhupinder Singh, which were sealed by the IO and the same were deposited in the malkhana. Copies of those three CDs are required for investigation of the present case (Shanti Bhushan CD case)," the police said in its plea to the court.
