LA County sheriff's detectives are investigating the fight as well as complaints that the 19-year-old singer and his entourage drove at excessive speed through his neighbourhood, the Los Angeles Times reported quoting authorities.
"The neighbour has complained Bieber spit on him and made some threats. Bieber's people say that it did not happen. Obviously, our detectives will determine what happened and take appropriate action," said sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.
Whitmore said at this stage no one has been arrested or cited from what amounts to a neighbour dispute.
The neighbour also alleges that Bieber threatened to kill him.
It is latest in the series of problems that the singer has been facing. Bieber has been at the receiving end of media for his erratic behaviour that includes being booed at a concert for arriving late, hitting a photographer, ranting on Instagram against paparazzi and comparing his tax returns to Lindsay Lohan.
