"The state government has in-principle agreed to hike the stipend of the junior doctors pursuing post-graduation course", Principal Secretary (Health) Vyasji told reporters.

The file in this regard will be put at the cabinet meeting after clearance of the proposal by the finance department, he said.

"The junior doctors pursuing post-graduation course should expect a reasonable hike in their stipend from the present Rs 25,000 per month", he said.

Vyasji urged the striking junior medicos at the PMCH in Patna and the DMCH at Darbhanga to resume duties in larger public interest.
