Bihar govt suspends arrested IAS officer Sudhir Kumar

The Bihar Government today placed under suspension senior IAS officer Sudhir Kumar, who was arrested by the police in the paper leak scam in clerical grade recruitment examination.
Notification of Kumar's suspension was issued by the General Administration Department (GAD).
The 1987 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, who served as Chairman of Bihar Staff Selection Commission chairman, was arrested on February 24 by a Special Investigation Team in connection with the paper leak scam in clerical-grade recruitment examination
He is presently lodged in jail in judicial custody since then.
During the period of suspension, Sudhir Kumar would be paid only subsistence allowance as per rule 1969 of All India Services (Discipline and Appeal), the notification said.
The officer has been arrested along with his four relatives in the paper leak scam.
Bihar Chapter of IAS Association has been agitating over manner in which he has been arrested.
After probe by state police chief P K Thakur and on recommendation of Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, Bihar Chief Minister had on February 8 last announced cancellation of BSSC exam held to fill up the posts of clerks in state government jobs.
