Bike-borne miscreants decamp with 350 sovereigns of gold

Five youths on two motorcycles today broke into a pawnbroker's house, assaulted and tied up a 50-year-old woman before decamping with 350 sovereigns of gold and Rs 4.5 lakh in cash, police said.
The woman had sent out the servant on some errand when the gang barged in the house, they said.
They tied up the woman and looted the cash and ornaments and fled from the spot.
Hearing the woman's screams, locals rushed to the spot and freed her, police said, adding, the matter is being investigated.
