The incident took place last evening when furniture showroom owner Yogesh Sharma was riding a scooter, along with his friend.
When they reached near the GT Road-Railway Road crossing, a lorry hit the bike killing Sharma on the spot and injuring his friend.
The lorry driver fled the spot soon after the accident. Angry with frequent accidents in the area, locals set the lorry on fire. Superintendent of Police (Rural) Brijesh Kumar Singh rushed to the spot and pacified the mob.
Meanwhile, near Jaipuria Institute in Sector 62 of Noida a pedestrian, Tilak Shah (30), was run over by an unknown vehicle while he was crossing the road.
