Biker's death: Magisterial inquiry to begin soon

A magisterial inquiry ordered into the killing of a 19-year-old youth who died allegedly in police firing on July 28 will begin its investigation in a day or two.
According to sources, the inquiry will begin soon and DM of New Delhi district will carry out the probe in which police officials and eyewitnesses in the case will be questioned.
Police had claimed that Karan Pandey was killed when a bullet fired by the police in an attempt to puncture the tyre of the bike he was riding pillion hit his back.
According to police, a group of about 150 bikers turned violent when they were asked to stop their dangerous motorcycle stunts and started pelting stones, injuring some policemen after which police fired in air.
In the incident, Punit Sharma, who was riding the bike, was also injured. Both of them were rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital where Pandey was declared dead.
