Biswajit equates election with T20 match, says anybody can win

Yesteryears actor Biswajit, who gave a number of Bollywood musical hits, is trying his electoral luck from the urban New Delhi constituency and is unfazed by the fact that he is pitted against strong candidates from Congress, BJP and Aam Aadmi Party.
Biswajit, who is contesting as a candidate of Trinamool Congress which has little presence in Delhi, feels it is not impossible for him to emerge victorious as election is "like a T20 match in which anybody can be a winner on a given day."
The popular star who delivered a number of hits opposite the likes of Waheeda Rehman and Asha Parekh is making his political debut on Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee's request.

The actor, who lives in Mumbai, has stationed himself here for some time and is making rounds of his constituency to reach out to voters.
He is pitted against former Union minister and sitting MP Ajay Maken of Congress, BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi and Ashish Khetan of AAP.
"I don't believe in terms such as heavy-weights. Election is more like a T20 match in which a Dhoni or a Dhawan can come out as a winner on a particular day. It is the God and voters who decide. Who knows what voters have in mind?" he said.

"I am doing a lot of socialising and even holding up to four rallies a day. I am getting good response. Like others in the fray, I am hopeful of winning," he told PTI.

"There will be only one winner. It will depend on the effort you put in, proper media coverage and how you are going to reach to the people," the actor said.
Biswajit also does not bother about being fielded by the party in Delhi where the party does not have many supporters as in West Bengal, a stronghold of Trinamool Congress.
"It may have been better, but I am not repenting. I am the first Bengali to contest from this constituency and I am very proud of that fact," he said.
Asked if Mamata would campaign in Delhi, where the party has fielded candidates in all seven Lok Sabha seats, he said she should do it to boost the morale of the party nominees.

He said his son Prosenjit, a famous Tollywood (Bengali) actor, would come to campaign for him. Mithun Chakraborty may also come. A Bollywood superstar may also come.
Biswajit has acted in popular movies like Kohra, Bees Saal Baad and Mere Sanam.
