Stating that BJP is committed to the development of Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today asked the people to vote for the party and oust the corruption-ridden government from the state.
Addressing a rally in support of BJP's Nagrota candidate Nand Kishore in Mathwar-Jandial area, the Union Home Minister said Jammu and Kashmir parties like NC and PDP, with the help of Congress, had looted the state and its resources for years.
The state which was one of the best and most developed at the time of Independence has now become one of the most backward states in the entire country.
He criticised the leaders of these political parties for failing to fulfil their assurances made to the people of this state and misleading them for their petty political gains.
On the backwardness of Nagrota constituency, the Union Home Minister said successive governments in this state failed to initiate any step for the development of this constituency, which is too close to the Jammu city and the people were deprived of basic amenities like drinking water, regular power supply and good road network.
He said his party would fulfil the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bring Jammu and Kashmir back on the path of development and appealed the people to vote in the favour of BJP candidate Nand Kishore Sharma.
