Accusing the then Tehri DM and ex-officio Director (rehabilitation) Ranjit Sinha of diposing of land meant for people displaced by the Tehri dam in violation of the norms, Leader of Opposition Ajay Bhatt demanded the officer's immediate suspension and a CBI probe into the irregularities.
Terming Sinha's role in the scam as highly suspicious, he said all the files related to these lands were disposed of by him in a single day.
Claiming that he had raised the issue in the state Assembly too, he accused the Vijay Bahuguna government of being evasive on the issue as it came up with no reply.
Instead of giving a reply, the state assembly was adjouned sine die when opposition raised the issue, he said.
