Chenab Valley, which comprises of Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban districts, had given Congress five out of six Assembly seats in 2008 state elections and is home turf of the Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Gulam Nabi Azad.
BJP is set to hold five mega rallies of its star campaigners - Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh and Party President Amit Shah - from November 19 to 22.
BJP is working over-time to reach out to the voters in Chenab Valley and banking on "Modi magic".
Modi, who will campaign for party candidates from Chenab Valley, is scheduled to address a public rally at Kishtwar town on November 22, a day before the electioneering for the first phase ends.
"BJP candidates bank on him immensely and party workers expressed happiness as Modi is campaigning in J&K. Crowd -puller Modi is known for wooing voters.
