Sharpening his attack on Narendra Modi, Congress leader Kapil Sibal today said the BJP has been "hijacked" by one person who is taking decisions on allocating and denying tickets to party veterans.

He also slammed a section of the media for projecting Modi as "one solution for all problems."

"Why do they talk of Modi government, why not BJP or alliance or NDA government. If such is the case, then they (BJP) have nothing to do with democracy," he said in a press conference.

Sibal said it would be "unconstitutional" if only one person runs the government. "Is Modi attached only to himself or the party. This is a question troubling the people," he said.

He said BJP today seems to have been "hijacked" by one person. "One person will decide who will get ticket. People who have spent years in the party have been denied a place," he said.

Responding to a question on detention of two youth from Jamia Nagar yesterday on the suspicion that they had links with IM operatives arrested from Rajasthan, Sibal said he was "sad" and "worried" at the development.

The two were later released.

"If people are arrested without evidence, it creates a fear psychosis and creates distrust. If it comes out that they were arrested on false evidence, then I have asked my two sons (both lawyers) to file a petition on the issue," he said.

When suggested that as the Home Minister belongs to Congress, will he rake up the issue with him, Sibal said such decisions to arrest people are taken by officials.

At the press conference, some 40 AAP workers from his Chandni Chowk constituency joined Congress.
