Delhi BJP today hit out at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for "not taking" any action against AAP's "tainted" MLA, Manoj Kumar, who was arrested in an alleged cheating and land-grabbing case last month.
"Arvind Kejriwal who makes tall claims of being idealistic should come clear as to what action he will take against his tainted MLA Manoj Kumar," Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay said.
Manoj Kumar, an AAP MLA from Kondli in east Delhi, was last month arrested and sent to a judicial custody in an alleged case of cheating and land-grabbing, and was later granted a bail.
"Kondli MLA Manoj Kumar was last month arrested for cheating a poor woman and today his Private Secretary has been arrested for extortion from local shopkeepers," Upadhyay said.
Earlier in the day, Delhi police arrested Manoj Kumar's Personal Assistant Deepak Sharma on charges of extortion.
"People of Delhi want to know that the chief minister who talks so much against corruption, what action will he take against MLA Manoj Kumar and his Secretary," Upadhyay said.
He further alleged that Kejriwal was not standing with his commitment of not allowing any tainted MLA in the Delhi Assembly.
"Kejriwal has till date taken no action against former minister Jitendra Singh Tomar arrested for forgery, despite his commitment to Delhi that he would not allow tainted leaders to sit in the Delhi Assembly," the Delhi BJP chief alleged.
Former Delhi law minister and AAP MLA Jitender Singh Tomar was arrested in the alleged fake degree in June this year.
