Hundreds of BJP activists today protested against unscheduled power cuts and water crises in different parts of the city.
The protesters, led by BJP Talab Tillo Mandal president Ayodhya Gupta and district Jammu vice president Sanjay Baru, protested in Rajpura, Gurha, Shakti Nagar and other adjoining areas of Jammu west constituency.
The party workers raised slogans against the Congress-NC coalition government and PDD and PHE departments.
"The unscheduled power cuts started immediately after the darbar move's to Srinagar... The government is unconcerned about the welfare of the public in this sweltering heat and is mindful of its own comforts and wellbeing," Gupta said.
Baru warned the departments that they will stage sit-in against these departments in case the power and water supply does not become normal immediately.
Lambasting state government for its failure to solve day to day problems of masses, Peoples Democratic Party general secretary Yash Pal Sharma also expressed his concern over unprecedented water and power crises.
He said the entire Jammu region has been facing scarcity of drinking water but the state government is adopting casual approach towards this unending problem.
Sharma warned that PDP would not remain a mute spectator and it would launch a mass movement to force the non-serious government to take some steps to improve water, power situation in Jammu region.
The protests against water and power crises were held also in Hazuribagh, Muthi, Bantalab, Janipur, Nagrota, Jagti areas of Jammu.
