CPI(M) today held Haryana government responsible for the killing of two Dalit children in Faridabad, alleging that upper caste sections in the state are feeling emboldened by BJP's "communal and casteist" agenda, resulting into such incidents.
The party demanded immediate arrest of the culprits of the "barbaric killing".
"They (the parents) only have one question, what was their children's fault? This is such a barbaric murder.
"The administration has failed miserably in this (tackling the incident). What was the police doing? The accused must be arrested immediately," CPI (M) politburo member Brinda Karat, who led a party delegation to Sunped village where the incident occurred, said.
The delegation comprised of party leaders like Inderjeet Singh and senior state unit leader Nathu Prasad.
Karat further said that had the Government paid heed to complaints of the victims' family, the children would have been saved.
In a separate statement, CPI(M) claimed upper caste sections in the state are feeling emboldened by alleged aggressive communal and casteist agenda being pursued by the BJP, resulting into such incidents.
Hence, it demanded, Khattar to ensure People's fundamental rights of life and liberty are "scrupulously" protected.
The two children were burnt alive, while their parents suffered injuries allegedly after some persons from upper caste set their house afire while they were sleeping yesterday at their residence in Sunped village of Faridabad.
