"We will send a team to discuss the issue with the Centre and the party's central leadership so that the peace process initiated after the formation of this government gains pace," state party president Sat Sharma told reporters here.
Senior leaders of the party held a core-group meeting, attended by BJP national vice president and in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir Avinash Rai Khanna, to discuss the prevailing situation in the state.
He said some people were trying to vitiate the atmosphere in Jammu and given the seriousness of the issue, the party leaders will go to Delhi and discuss the issue with the cenral leadership of the party and the Union government.
Khanna said peace was imperative for development-related work in Jammu and Kashmir.
"After the PDP and BJP government came into power, new avenues for development opened in Jammu and Kashmir and until and unless peace is restored, development will not happen. So my appeal to all is to help restore peace," he said.
