BJP candidate Tushar Govind Rathod has defeated Hanumantrao Patil Betmogrekar of Congress in the by-election to Mukhed Assembly seat in Maharashtra's Nanded district.
The election was necessitated following the death of Mukhed sitting BJP MLA and Tushar's father Govind Rathod.
Rathod had died of cardiac arrest in October last year.
The polling was held on February 13 and the counting of votes was held yesterday.
Tushar Rathod defeated the Congress candidate by a margin of over 47,000 votes.
