BJYM president Anurag Thakur demanded a thorough probe into the working of Central Ayush Department, which he claimed had become non-functional and the "funds allocated to the department for various activities are being surrendered every year."
Thakur alleged that there was a powerful lobby having links with foreign drug manufacturers and suppliers, and are harming the cause of Ayush and not allowing it to function efficiently.
The MP said that a systematic campaign is underway to "fail" Ayush system which was less expensive and more adaptable in India.
However, the department has failed to achieve the stated objectives and there was sharp deterioration in the implementation on various ongoing schemes in various sectors and priority areas of the AYUSH.
