Black pepper, ginger decline on lower demand, copra stable

In a restricted activity, prices of black pepper and ginger declined at the spices market here today due to lower demand from stockist and retailers.
While, rest of the spices ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.
Black pepper fell by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 531/581 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 541/591.
Ginger bleached and unbleached also moved down by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 205 and Rs 215 as against Rs 210 and Rs 220, respectively.
Following are today's closing rates in Rs with previous rates in brackets:
Black pepper (per kg) 531/581 (541/591), ginger bleached (per kg) 205 (210), ginger unbleached (per kg) 215 (220), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 8,000 (8,000), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 7,900 (7,900), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 9,600 (9,600), Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 9,400 (9,400).
