The new 3 Series is locally produced at the BMW plant in Chennai and can be ordered at dealerships across India from today onwards, BMW India said in a statement.
The petrol variant of the sedan will be launched later this year, it added.

The 320d Prestige variant of the sedan is priced at Rs 35.9 lakh, 320d Sport Line (Navigation) at Rs 41.5 lakh, 320d Luxury Line (Navigation) at Rs 41.5 lakh and the 320d M Sport trim at Rs 44.5 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
The sedan, which comes with TwinPower Turbo diesel engine, can accelerate to 100 km/hr in 7.2 seconds with the ability to achieve a top speed of 230 km/hr.
The luxury vehicle comes with various features like on-board driver information system, park distance control, brake-energy regeneration and electronic power steering among others.
