The appointment of Anil Rai Gupta, who was serving as the Joint Managing Director, comes after the demise of Founder-Chairman Qimat Rai Gupta last week.
"QRG's passing is a sad and difficult time for all of us. Today, Havells reflects on his extraordinary life and commitment to people, employees, industry and well-being of the society", Anil Rai Gupta said in a statement.
"Our values originated from him and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Havells. We share the great privilege and responsibility of carrying his legacy into the future", Gupta said.
Seventy seven-year-old Qimat Rai Gupta started Havells and transformed it to a multinational with operations across 51 countries and was known for entrepreneurial spirit.
