The deceased has been identified as Dev Raj of Bhalla area in Bhaderwah, principal of a higher secondary school at Bharat in Doda district, they said.
His body was found form Neeru nallah (stream) in the area, police said.
A case under section 174 of CrPC (enquire and report on suicide) has been registered and a probe has been started, they said, adding, after conducting legal formalities, the body will be handed over to his family members for last rites.
