Body of man, with severed body parts nearby found on riverbed

: The body of a man, with his severed head, hands and legs placed near it was found along the almost dried up river Bhavani by villagers of Komarapalayam, police said.
They noticed the body this morning and informed police who rushed to the spot and retrieved it.
Police suspect that the man, presumed to be between 35 to 40 years old, might have been murdered by a gang, which then hacked his body into pieces and flung it at the spot.
They said the body was not washed away as there was scanty flow in the river after water release was stopped from Bhavanisagar dam.
