"Ever since the AAP came to power in Delhi and the BJP at the Centre, prices of all the essential commodities including pulses and vegetables have been soaring high unchecked, making the lives of the people miserable," Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Maken said.
Addressing a gathering before filing of nomination of party candidate from Nawada ward Satpal Sethi, Maken claimed Congress will win the by-polls to 13 wards with "thumping" majority.
Party leader and ex-MLA Mukesh Sharma alleged that AAP and BJP did nothing to bring down the prices after coming to powers, as promised during the campaign for Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
Meanwhile, party spokesman Pramod Kumar said several ex-AAP workers joined Congress under the leadership of Rajkumar Khutel.
