Bovine smuggling bid foiled in Jammu, 36 bovines rescued

With the arrest of eight persons, police foiled a bovine smuggling bid in Nagrota area on the outskirts of the city.
36 bovines were rescued from the suspected cattle smuggler.
Eight persons identified as Bagh Ali, Javed Ahmed, Zahoor Hussain, Javed Ahmed, Shakil Ahmed, Mohammad Asif, Muneer Ahmed and Nazir Hussain, were arrested when they were trying to smuggle 36 bovine animals in five trucks last evening, a police officer said today.
A case has been registered against all the eight accused and all five trucks have been seized, he said, adding further investigations are on.
