A 14-year-old boy allegedly abducted from Ahmedabad on May 24 was reunited with his relatives today after he gave his abductors the slip at a suburban railway station on Wednesday night while being taken to some unknown destination in a train, police said.
Mahato Garibankumar Dileep was spotted crying at Thane railway station last morning by a police team which was on a routine patrol.
Senior inspector of Naupada police station C J Jadhav told reporters today that the boy informed them that he was picked up from outside his house in Nikol area on Wednesday morning.
"He told us that some unidentified people placed handkerchief on his face and dumped him in a four-wheeler before he fell unconscious," Jadhav said.
According to police, when the boy woke up, he found himself in a train with around ten boys along with his captors.
The boy said he and other boys could not raise alarm as the abductors were wielding knife, the police officer said.
"As the train reached Bombay Central station on Wednesday night, the teenager and another boy managed to give their captors the slip," the police inspector said.
Jadhav said a missing person complaint under section 363 of the IPC was found to be registered at Nikol police station in Ahmedabad during investigation.
"The Thane police got in touch with their counterparts in Ahmedabad, who subsequently informed relatives of the boy about his whereabouts," he said.
The boy was handed over to his relatives, who were accompanied by officials of Gujarat police, today, he added.
