A 11-year-old boy's play with a nylon rope turned fatal as he died after it got twisted around his neck at his home here today.
Dakshinabalan, son of a traffic constable, was playing with his younger brother at his residence in the Crime Branch Police Quarters. At one stage, the rope got twisted around his neck.
The younger sibling, who did not know how to untangle the twist, tightened the noose out of anxiety, instead of releasing it, police said.
