Tanmoy Biswas, a student of Majdia Railbazar English High School, was found dead by his parents in his room with a towel coiled around his neck in the intervening night of September 7, they said.
The police did not confirm whether the boy died because of imitating a TV cartoon character, but said that an unnatural death (UD) case had been registered in the Krishnaganj police station.
The boy was cremated today and the school was closed for the day to mourn his death.
