55-year-old chartered accountant, declared brain dead, have donated his organs to 'Jeevandan', a state-run organ donation programme.
K Venkateswarlu, who hails from Warangal district of Telangana, had gone to attend his relative's marriage at Warangal on December 23 when he suddenly collapsed.
He was first rushed to a local hospital and then to a private hospital in Secunderabad for better treatment.
However, a neurophysician declared him brain dead.
"The treating doctor and the coordinator gave brief counselling to the family members and explained about the importance of organ donation," an official release stated.
Venkateswarlu's wife Kalyani, and three sons gave consent to Jeevandan for organ donation, it added.
